Hollywood Bypasses the Theater

Hollywood movie studios that release films to theatrical viewing complexes are closing the window on the time between a film's release and the film's DVD. Video on demand (VOD) for cable and sattelite broadcast was formerly released after the DVD.
With more consumers abandoning the theaters for their living room theatre, DVD's and VOD
will soon be released simultaneously with the theatrical release.
"Home Theater Killed the Film Star"
But I still like loud theatres with 40 foot screens...and sticky floors, once in awhile.
